Sewing Schools

Women in India still face many challenges and dangers. Bride burning is a tragic and deeply troubling form of violence that some women in India still face due to unmet dowry demands, often resulting in severe injury or death. We are committed to equipping women with skills training and education, empowering them with independence and a means to generate an income, protecting themselves from such dangers, while affirming their God-given worth and dignity.

Under the leadership of Dr. Hazel Lurline Hill, sewing schools have been established in many places throughout the country to equip young women with vocational skills. These programs empower women to earn income—often used to meet dowry demands and prevent violence—and to build independent, dignified lives. Many are also learning oil painting and handcrafting techniques, enabling them to create and sell beautiful works of art.

Victory Children’s Homes of India is not just changing lives—it is saving them. Through education, shelter, and skill-building, we are restoring dignity and creating pathways to a brighter future.
